Amusement parks aren’t the only places where you’ll find architectural slides; these fun additions has successfully made their way into homes and offices for those who want to have fun with architecture. We have earlier told you about few of the upscale residences which have used slides in different manners create their own dream home including, the Japanese architects Kazuki Nakamura and Kenichi Izuhara “House with Slide” and the luxury holiday villa equipped with an amusement park sized water slide in Koh Samui, Thailand. The latest is Professional poker player Phil Galfond’s penthouse duplex apartment in Manhattan’s East Village, which features a custom sculptural steel helical slide that combines the two floors.

Designed by the Turrett Architects, this steel slide is not just a point of interest; it also serves purpose of connecting the two floors, delivering a quick exit from one floor to the other. Starting from the top floor near the office and landing below the dining and living areas, this stainless steel slide is installed in an exclusively created double-height space which is 18’ in height. TCA, known for their expertise in connecting smaller apartments together into a seamless whole, managed to creatively turn this 2 story East Village duplex penthouse into a perfect place for both work and play.

Apart from this playground element, this luxury condominium also provides an Italian made Rintal staircase and a private keyed elevator as an alternative way to come down to the first floor.
