It must have ripped the hearts of a million Maybach lovers when they saw Jay-Z and Kanye West take a beautiful 2004 Maybach 57 and tear it apart for the Grammy Award winning song ‘Otis’ in 2011. The butchered and mangled Maybach 57 was sailing in the expected price range of $100,000 and $150,000 at an auction to benefit Save the Children Foundation. But unfortunately, the sedan fetched only a meager $60,000 at the New York Contemporary Art Evening auction held by Phillips de Pury & Co.

It’s a fine car, but I guess folks are a tad intimidated to be spotted driving a model from 2004. You know what they say, what goes around comes around. You project it to be worthless in the video and it takes a real life cue from there to fetch you nothing. It’s alright if you think my school of thought is too rigid!
